The Story behind the Original Bad Ass Cat/Kat T-shirt
So you might be wondering where did this crazy idea come from. Well, while my wife and I are animal lovers we are partial to cats, (partly because they are low maintenance and we like to travel). We also think cats get a bum rap compared to dogs. While cats are often considered to be aloof and independent, merely tolerating their human captors. Our cats are very affectionate and devoted. Of course we also realize that they do not belong to us - we belong to them and so they actually lead us to believe that they enjoy our company, even when we misbehave. Anyway - I personally got very tired of all those cool dog shirts while cat t-shirts were usually something you'd give your grandmother to wear or your 6 year old.
So an idea began formulating in my far too cramped cranial space (pushing out more important things like work). Then I had a contractor working on our house who was a tattooed, Harley driving, Marine Corp vet who loved cats and I said there has to be others like him! At roughly the same time - the Michael Vick dog fighting case was in the spotlight and so the "Bad Ass Kat" t-shirt to help stop animal abuse was born. I hope you like it and will buy a shirt so I can raise a few more dollars for the APCSM shelter. I hope to be able to spread this ultimately to support other animal shelters in the New England area if I can. By the way - if you haven't seen it or heard about it, check out Rescue Ink on the National Geographic Channel or at www.rescueink.com . They are a bunch of serious tough guys in NYC working to stop abuse and stand up for animals!
